Heeeeeere's Jacky!!
Our grandson is here! Jack Gordon Busch was introduced to his anxiously waiting family on March 16, weighing in at 9 lb. 14 oz.! To say that we are happy, relieved, thrilled, and proud (the good proud) is to be a tremendous understatement!
Jewel and Steve are adjusting to parenthood...aka...existing without sleep!! It's a new experience for all of them!!
What a ride!!

Baby on the way... SLOWLY...oh, dear...
This is Jewel, helping my mom learn more about posting on her blog...since my labor is in "resting" stage right now (which is code for taking FOREVER), we're coming up with things to do. Like blogging. So we're making this a family affair.
For more details on my labor, you can check out my blog here.
Sigh. We'll continue to keep you posted!

Baby on the way?
We were in the middle of scriptures yesterday morning and the phone rang. We all froze for just a second and then started hustling around, “Where’s the phone! Where’s the phone!” and yep, sure enough, it was Jewel. I breathlessly said, “Hi Jewel! What’s going on?” like I didn’t know! And she said, “Oh, we just wanted to say hi.” For just a second my gullibility stepped in and I believed her and then I thought, “Oh, they are playing an early April Fool’s joke on me just to get my adrenalin going!” Then I thought, “They wouldn’t do that! Not to me!” But then I remembered Dad and I doing that to my family on April Fool’s Day when I was pregnant with Jewel, so who knows! (It’s amazing how fast your brain can go through so many thoughts in a split second!) But then she told me she was just kidding. She did feel like labor might have started and described what’s going on with her body. It sounded like it could be the real thing, but you never know!

I'm so proud!
I am listening to the inaugurational speech of President Obama and had the great idea of multi-tasking...so here I am working on my blog. However, as I was going through pictures...I just have to sigh...I'm so proud of my "special" crew!

Real Life in Flakeville
This week (post-holiday week) I had set some goals for myself to do some deep cleaning now that the masses have left (or at least gone back to school), and then afterwards I promised myself that I would allow myself some time on the computer to figure out how to do my blog (which my sweet daughter, Jewel, gave me for Christmas)!!
Well, it's Friday and my house is still needing lots of attention (to put it mildly)...but my curiosity in learning how to do my blog is winning out!
Even as I sit here, rationalizing... real life screams at me...for instance...I've been doing laundry all day. I'm so happy to see those disgusting, smelly, dirty clothes (teenage boys are REALLY stinky!!!) going into the washer...then...coming out of the dryer, sweet-smelling, bright and clean!! Folding them, putting them into the children's rooms where they will lovingly be put away into their drawers or hung up into their closets gives me a feeling of accomplishment...until...I then ask the kids to bring me their dirty clothes hampers!! And fifteen minutes later I have mountains of disgusting, smelly, dirty clothes screaming at me again!! Augh!!
So guys...this is my REAL life!!
